About SpeciesRadar

Intelligence for Earth's biodiversity

SpeciesRadar is a biodiversity intelligence platform that ingests data from the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and enriches it with AI-generated narratives, interactive timelines, and country-level dashboards.

Our goal is to make global biodiversity data accessible, actionable, and understandable for researchers, policymakers, educators, and anyone who wants to understand the state of life on Earth.

Data Sources

  • IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (primary)
  • GBIF — Global Biodiversity Information Facility
  • WWF Living Planet Index
  • ESA Copernicus satellite data

Methodology

All conservation status data uses the official IUCN Red List categories. Species profiles are generated by Claude AI using IUCN assessment data as input, with strict rules against fabricating statistics or population numbers.

Every data point displayed on SpeciesRadar includes its source attribution. We do not present estimates as facts, and we clearly label model-generated content.
